Volleyball Recap: Miami Stingarees vs. Columbus Explorers
Miami faced Columbus in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Stingarees took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Explorers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Explorers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 2-1 loss back in March.
Miami was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-20.
Miami's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 13-6. As for Columbus, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 20-2.
Looking ahead, Miami will square off against Park Vista at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Columbus, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Reagan on the 11th.
