Basketball Recap: Oregon's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Oregon was the 68-41 winner over Edgewood when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers came up short against the Crusaders on Friday, falling 63-41. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Oregon lost, don't look at Teagan Schoenecker. Despite the final result, she went 6-for-10 en route to 18 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. That was a full 43.9% of the Panthers' points, marking the fourth time in a row Schoenecker has posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Niasia Niedziejko, who scored five points.

Oregon's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-3. As for Edgewood, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Oregon will take on Beaver Dam in a holiday battle at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Edgewood and Sauk Prairie will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
