Baseball Recap: Edgewood Comes Up Short

Edgewood came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 14-7 to the North Posey Vikings.

Edgewood saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gunnar Perry, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Perry has hit this season. Another was Nolan Hudson, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Edgewood's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for North Posey, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edgewood will head out to take on Owen Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for North Posey, they are taking a road trip to challenge Castle at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
