Basketball Game Preview: Bennington Badgers vs. Wayne Blue Devils

The Bennington Badgers are taking a road trip to take on the Wayne Blue Devils on Saturday. Bennington has given up an average of 55.5 points per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bennington is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Gross Catholic: they outscored them in every quarter. The Badgers enjoyed a cozy 80-64 win over the Cougars on Thursday.

Blaize Jung continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double with 22 points and nine boards. The contest was his third in a row with at least 16 points. Jax Gifford was another key player, putting up 12 points and seven rebounds.

Bennington smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2025.

Meanwhile, Wayne came up short against Crofton on Saturday and fell 56-47. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bennington will need to focus on slowing down Drew Reinhardt, one of several Wayne players who made an impact when they last played. He posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Brodey Munter, who earned ten points.

Bennington is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points over those games. As for Wayne, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.

It's a different story for Wayne, though, as they've only made 28.9% of their three-pointers this season.
