Volleyball Recap: Mater Academy Charter Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

Mater Academy Charter barely beat iMater Charter the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mater Academy Charter Lions put the hurt on the iMater Charter Knights with a sharp 3-0 victory on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won three in a row.

Mater Academy Charter was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-18, 25-20.

Erick Collazo paced Mater Academy Charter's offense, picking up 13 kills. Collazo got some help from Jacob Victorero and his 15 assists. Finally, Collazo was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Mater Academy Charter's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. As for iMater Charter, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
