Basketball Game Preview: BASIS Red Giants vs. KIPP DC Legacy College Prep Bulldogs

BASIS hasn't had much luck against KIPP DC Legacy College Prep recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Red Giants will venture away from home to challenge the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, BASIS was beaten by Idea 95-68.

Despite the defeat, BASIS got top-tier performance from Timothy Chamberlain II, who almost dropped a double-double with 31 points and nine boards. The game was Chamberlain II's fifth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ishmael Conteh, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 12 points.

Meanwhile, KIPP DC Legacy College Prep faced Friendship Tech Prep Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Bulldogs fell 54-42 to the Titans. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, KIPP DC Legacy College Prep fell to 4-1. As for BASIS, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

BASIS was dealt a bruising 78-12 loss at the hands of KIPP DC Legacy College Prep in their previous meeting back in January. Can the Red Giants avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
