St. James waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Berwick Panthers by a score of 36-26. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Despite the defeat, Berwick had strong showings from Azyria Garrison, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 boards, and Shelby Taylor, who posted two points and nine rebounds. That was a full 50% of Berwick's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

St. James' win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Berwick, their loss dropped their record down to 20-9.

Looking ahead, St. James will challenge South Lafourche at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Berwick, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Central Catholic at 5:30 p.m. Berwick is on a three-game streak of home wins, Central Catholic a six-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
