The Attica Red Ramblers will head out to challenge the Clinton Prairie Gophers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Attica is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
While Attica's win against South Newton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Red Ramblers had just enough and edged out the Rebels 3-2 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Red Ramblers in their matchups with the Rebels: they've now won four in a row.

Anni Reynolds spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Joslyn Barnett was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Maddie Beck, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Clinton Prairie won against Sheridan on Monday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Gophers were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over Eastern. The Gophers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by eight runs or more this season.
Sadie Weliver was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Clinton Prairie let Keera Grizzle and Brenna Riley run wild. Grizzle went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Riley went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most RBI Riley has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadie Fearnow, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Clinton Prairie was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastern only posted a batting average of .207.
The win made it two in a row for Clinton Prairie and bumps their season record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Attica, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Attica has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Clinton Prairie struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Attica was able to grind out a solid win over Clinton Prairie when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 8-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Ramblers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
