Basketball Recap: Osceola Extends Home Winning Streak to 15

Osceola extended their home winning streak to 15 games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Luke Mccrimon. The Osceola Kowboys put the hurt on the Mount Dora Christian Academy Bulldogs with a sharp 81-57 victory on Thursday thanks in part to Mccrimon, who went 13 of 18 en route to 30 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. That's the most points he has posted since back in January of 2024.

The team also got some help courtesy of Helio Quinan, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 16 points along with seven boards and five assists. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Mount Dora Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landon Marenco, who went 5 of 11 en route to 14 points. Marenco is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tyler Mcclinton-Hutto, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.

Osceola's record is now 20-3. As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, their record is now 14-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Osceola won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Southland Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Osceola is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.9 points per game this season. As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, they and Wildwood will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Mount Dora Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 matches -- so hopefully Wildwood likes a good challenge.
