Flag Football Game Preview: Mountain View Mountain Lions vs. Casa Grande Cougars

The Mountain View Mountain Lions will face off against the Casa Grande Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain View has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight defeats, while Casa Grande will come in with four straight victories.

Mountain View's offense might be in the hot seat on Thursday considering what happened against Nogales on Tuesday. They came up short against the Apaches, falling 21-0.

Meanwhile, while Casa Grande put up some points on Thursday, the same can't be said for Buena. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over the Colts. Considering the Cougars have won three contests by more than 19 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Mountain View better keep an eye on Sarah Mountz. She was instrumental in Casa Grande's win, throwing for 173 yards and two TDs.

Casa Grande didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kayla Tacker and Barnett Khiyah.

Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Casa Grande, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Things could have been worse for Mountain View, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 24-7 loss to Casa Grande when the teams last played back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Cougars' Lynisee Armstrong, who picked up 57 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 38 yards and one score. Now that the Mountain Lions know the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
