Baseball Recap: Burr Oak Takes a Loss

Burr Oak lost against Athens back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bobcats lost 33-1 to the Indians. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Burr Oak saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Cole, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Kayden Cole also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Burr Oak's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Athens, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burr Oak will head out to face off against Climax-Scotts at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Athens, they will venture away from home to take on Bellevue at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians are facing the Broncos at the right time seeing as the Broncos are stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
