Softball Recap: Temecula Valley Takes a Loss

Temecula Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Great Oak Wolfpack, falling 10-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Bears of the 11-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Nyomi Simental made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery DePauw, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Temecula Valley now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Great Oak, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Temecula Valley is set to face off against their familiar foe Murrieta Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Great Oak will challenge rival Murrieta Mesa at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
