Glenn is a perfect 10-0 against R.J. Reynolds since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Glenn Bobcats will head out to square off against the R.J. Reynolds Demons at 5:00 p.m. Glenn is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Glenn is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against West Forsyth on Tuesday. They lost 8-1 to the Titans. The matchup marked the Bobcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Glenn saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Hardin, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Hardin is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask R.J. Reynolds). They put the hurt on North Forsyth with a sharp 30-11 win on Wednesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Demons as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Carrie Martin was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, eight RBI, and three runs. Aalayah Kimbrough was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing Seven bases. while going 3-for-4.
R.J. Reynolds always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .841. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
R.J. Reynolds' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Glenn, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
R.J. Reynolds' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Glenn hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. It's a different story for R.J. Reynolds, though, as they've only averaged .217. Will they be able to contain Glenn's hitters?
Glenn took their victory against R.J. Reynolds when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 23-2. Will Glenn repeat their success, or does R.J. Reynolds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
