Football Recap: Pine Ridge Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Pine Ridge played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 42-21 to the Mount Dora Christian Academy Bulldogs. The Panthers were down 35-14 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

When it comes to explaining why Pine Ridge lost, don't look at Cole Darling. Despite the final result, he picked up 100 receiving yards and one TD. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 64 yards.

Leading Mount Dora Christian Academy to victory were Issac Farling and Noah Slegers. Farling rushed for 144 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Slegers rushed for 142 yards and two scores on only 12 carries. Farling also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making four total tackles.

Pine Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Pine Ridge will face off against Lake Weir at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, they will square off against The Master's Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.4 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
