Baseball Recap: Mississinewa Comes Up Short

After flying high against Frankton on Thursday, Mississinewa came back down to earth. The Indians fell just short of the Maconaquah Braves by a score of 8-7 on Monday. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Braves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Kellen Rock made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Mississinewa is 5-1 when Rock posts two or more runs, but 7-10 otherwise.

Mississinewa's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Maconaquah, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-9.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Mississinewa will take on Bellmont at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Braves will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight. As for Maconaquah, they will challenge Northwestern at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
