Basketball Recap: Collaborative Education Sets Scoring Season-High Against East Side Community

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Collaborative Education). They took down East Side Community 44-30 on Wednesday. The win was all the more spectacular given Collaborative Education's disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 321st, while East Side Community is ranked 154th).

The victory (which was Collaborative Education's third in a row) raised their record to 5-4. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.7 points per game. As for East Side Community, they moved to 5-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Collaborative Education and School of the Future will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 4:30 p.m. on January 30th. School of the Future's defense has only allowed 17.5 points per game this season, so Collaborative Education's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for East Side Community, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Manhattan Village Academy at 4:15 p.m. on January 30th. East Side Community is facing Manhattan Village Academy at the right time seeing as Manhattan Village Academy is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
