Baseball Recap: Juniata Valley Hornets vs. Mount Union Trojans

Juniata Valley lost to Mount Union on Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hornets fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 6-5. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ethan Scalia was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two runs.

In other batting news, Dmitri Boyd made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Matt Dick was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.
