Softball Recap: Hendrickson Takes a Loss

Hendrickson was the 12-2 winner over Giddings when they last played one another back in February of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Hendrickson Hawks fell just short of the Giddings Buffaloes by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday.

Hendrickson saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Gonzales, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Hendrickson's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Giddings, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.

Looking ahead, Hendrickson will challenge Flour Bluff at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Flour Bluff is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season. As for Giddings, they will square off against Lexington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lexington's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Giddings' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
