Recap: Currituck County Knights vs. Bear Grass Charter Bears

The Currituck County Knights put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 45-34 win over Bear Grass Charter. Given Currituck County's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while Bear Grass Charter is ranked 288th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Currituck County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Arianna White led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Leonard, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aubrey Dotson, who scored ten points along with three steals. The match was Dotson's fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Even though they lost, Bear Grass Charter were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Currituck County only pulled down 23 offensive rebounds.

Currituck County's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Bear Grass Charter, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
