Volleyball Game Preview: Evergreen Park Mustangs vs. Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South Meteors

The Evergreen Park Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South Meteors at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Evergreen Park came up short against Richards and fell 2-0.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Richards scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Oak Forest. While the Meteors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bengals 25-17 in the first set.

Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-19, 25-23.

Evergreen Park's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-11. As for Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
