Baseball Game Preview: Knoch Knights vs. Pine-Richland Rams

The Knoch Knights will take on the Pine-Richland Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Knoch's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Pine-Richland's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Pine-Richland will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Knoch extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. Everything went the Knights' way against Derry as they made off with a 10-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Pine-Richland wound up with the same score they had in their last game (8-4), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Pine-Richland had to settle for second despite strong performances on the mound from Will Franchak and Eli Deihl Franchak pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits, while Deihl pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Franchak has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Logan Plummer made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Ben Husted was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Knoch's win bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Pine-Richland, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-5.
