Softball Recap: Countryside Christian Comes Up Short

After flying high against Saint Francis Catholic last Tuesday, Countryside Christian came back down to earth. Countryside Christian came up short against the Riverside Christian Wranglers on Thursday, falling 14-5. The Minutemen were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wranglers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Riley Keith made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole four bases while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Vanessa Colon, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Countryside Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in eight consecutive games.

Countryside Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Riverside Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Coming up, Countryside Christian will take on Bell at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Riverside Christian, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Cedar Key at 5:30 p.m. on April 8.
