Baseball Recap: North Vermillion Takes a Loss

North Vermillion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Seeger Patriots, falling 17-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 24-3 last Tuesday.

Emmit Klugow made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. Randall Jeffers was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

North Vermillion's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Seeger, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-3.

Coming up, North Vermillion will be playing at home against West Vigo at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Seeger, they will venture away from home to challenge Rossville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
