Football Game Preview: Shafter Generals vs. Washington Union Panthers + Official Tickets

Two dominant backs in Mariyon Sloan and Jareal Albert are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Shafter Generals will be playing at home against the Washington Union Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Shafter knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Washington Union likes a good challenge.

Shafter is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Mission College Prep 38-17. Considering the Generals have won seven games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

A big part of Shafter's win came down to the chemistry between Ezekiel Osborne and his top target Luis Santana. Osborne threw for 226 yards and one TD while completing 72.4% of his passes while Santana picked up 87 receiving yards and one score. The dominant performance also gave Osborne a new career-high in rushing yards (32).

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Washington Union beat Justin Garza 27-21 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Shafter better keep an eye on Mckinley Williams. He was instrumental in Washington Union's win, throwing for 155 yards and three touchdowns.

Washington Union didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Devin Phelps and Albert. With that strong performance, Albert is now averaging an impressive 101 rushing yards per game. Washington Union got some further help from Alexander Gaytan: he picked up two sacks, forced one fumble, and made ten total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Washington Union's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Shafter, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
