Basketball Recap: Chicago University Maroons vs. Lake View Wildcats
Chicago University was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 68-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lake View Wildcats. The Maroons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.
Lake View's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dyami Rolon, who went 9-for-11 to rack up 20 points and seven rebounds. Rolon continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Frank Fregoso, who posted four points in addition to 15 assists and six boards.
Chicago University's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Lake View, their record now sits at 13-11.
Chicago University and Lake View could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Chicago University (ranked 437th) will meet Saint Ignatius College Prep (ranked 29th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Lake View will challenge Loyola Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 367 places (408 vs. 41).
