Recap: Ocean View Seahawks vs. Westminster Lions
The Ocean View Seahawks pushed their score all the way to 64 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 72-64 to Westminster. Ocean View was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Westminster apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Westminster had a senior duo take command as Eric Hoang scored 26 points and MJ Gaza scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hoang has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Matt Tran, who scored 14 points.
Ocean View has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season. As for Westminster, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ocean View will square off against Katella at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Westminster, they will head out on the road to face off against Garden Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Garden Grove is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
