Basketball Recap: Beacon Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Pine Bush

Pine Bush typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Beacon proved too difficult a challenge. They secured a 61-57 W over the Pine Bush Bushmen. The win was all the more spectacular given the Bulldogs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Bushmen are ranked 15th).

Beacon pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Pine Bush, with the loss, they broke their 17-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-1.

Beacon won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Fallsburg at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Beacon is facing Fallsburg at the right time seeing as Fallsburg is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Pine Bush, they will square off against Pearl River at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
