Soccer Recap: Research Triangle Comes Up Short

Despite a strong season so far, Research Triangle has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Falls Lake Firebirds. One thing that didn't help Research Triangle's chances was the red card they were dealt courtesy of Konor Colburn.

Research Triangle's goal came courtesy of Matias Camacho, who's now up to eight this season.

Research Triangle's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5-3. As for Falls Lake, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-4.

Research Triangle and Falls Lake should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Raptors will challenge Neuse Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (202 vs. 518). Meanwhile, Falls Lake (ranked 167th) will meet Henderson Collegiate (ranked 468th) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
