Waterloo and Marshall are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Pirates will face off against the Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Waterloo hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Waterloo managed to slip by Deerfield the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Pirates lost 9-0 to the Demons on Monday.

Meanwhile, Marshall suffered their biggest defeat since April 1st on Monday. They came up short against McFarland, falling 24-3.

Sydney Stuntebeck made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.

Waterloo's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Marshall, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Waterloo has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Marshall struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Waterloo couldn't quite finish off Marshall in their previous matchup on April 10th and fell 4-2. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
