Basketball Game Preview: South Walton Seahawks vs. Gulf Breeze Dolphins

The South Walton Seahawks will square off against the Gulf Breeze Dolphins at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

South Walton is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Everything went their way against Destin on Monday as South Walton made off with a 77-54 victory. Given the Seahawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while the Sharks are ranked 404th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Gulf Breeze's game on Friday was all tied up 17-17 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They enjoyed a cozy 53-35 win over Pace. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dolphins.

South Walton better focus on containing Michael Bailey and Hutson Rowe as the pair were huge in Gulf Breeze's win. Bailey went 7 for 13 on his way to 18 points and three steals, while Rowe posted 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That's the most steals Bailey has posted since back in November of 2023.

South Walton's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Gulf Breeze, their win bumped their record up to 17-3.
