Softball Recap: Curtis Vikings vs. Sumner Spartans
Curtis extended their losing streak to eight on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 2-18 in the process. They lost 15-3 to the Sumner Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-2 back in March.

Curtis saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Melanie Spivey, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Spivey has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
As for Sumner, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Considering they have won five games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
On Sumner's side, Riley Meyers was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Korschinowski, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Curtis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sumner, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Spanaway Lake at 4:00 p.m.
