Paint Valley scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 65-64 to the Westfall Mustangs. The defeat continues a trend for the Bearcats in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now lost four in a row.

Several Bearcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Colton Yoakum, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Carson M Free was another key player, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards.

Even though they lost, Paint Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Paint Valley's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Westfall, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-9.

Paint Valley will challenge Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Valley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Westfall, they will face off against Zane Trace at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Zane Trace will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Westfall surely won't give up without a fight.
