Softball Recap: Clear Brook Comes Up Short

Clear Brook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Clear Falls Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-5 back in March.

Liliana Garza was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits.

At the plate, Clear Brook saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kiersten Sanders, who went 2-for-3 with one double. That double was Sanders' first of the season.

Clear Brook's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Clear Falls, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-16.

Clear Brook has already played their next contest, a 9-7 loss against Clear Lake on the 15th. As for Clear Falls, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-1 defeat against Dickinson on the 15th.
