Basketball Recap: Bethesda Christian Skates Past Traders Point Christian with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter, Bethesda Christian was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Traders Point Christian Knights 70-38. The Patriots have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.

Bethesda Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Branden Roberts led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Liam Swan was another key player, going 7 of 12 on his way to 18 points and six assists.

Bethesda Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Traders Point Christian only racked up two assists.

Traders Point Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jakson Jones, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Edgar Momoh, who posted nine points and eight boards.

Bethesda Christian moved to 2-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Traders Point Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bethesda Christian will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Highlands Latin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Traders Point Christian and Horizon Christian will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
