Softball Recap: Aliso Niguel Comes Up Short

Aliso Niguel lost against Capistrano Valley back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wolverines fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-2. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Olivia Kuhnel was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Ella Haugo was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Aliso Niguel's loss dropped their record down to 14-13-1. As for Capistrano Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Aliso Niguel nor Capistrano Valley have any future games scheduled.
