Volleyball Recap: Mikayla Mitchell and Izzy Anderson Secure Win for Bay

Bay hadn't done well against Blountstown recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Tornadoes put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tornadoes.

Bay didn't let Blountstown take a single set, but it sure wasn't easy: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-22, 25-22.

Bay was led to victory by Izzy Anderson and Mikayla Mitchell. Anderson had 18 digs, while Mitchell had seven digs and two aces. What's more, Mitchell racked up 13 assists, the most she's had since back in September. Kaitlyn Allan was another key player, getting 12 digs and two assists.

They weren't the only good servers: Bay was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 24 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Blountstown only served seven.

Defeat or not, Blountstown got some senior leadership from Eden Mallory and Khloe Schamens. Mallory had 13 digs and two aces, while Schamens had eight digs and two aces. Mallory has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last seven times she's played.

Bay's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Blountstown, their loss dropped their record down to 13-11.

Bay didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Pensacola on the 14th. As for Blountstown, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Munroe on the 14th.
