Football Preview: Holy Cross Indians vs. Eminence Warriors

The Holy Cross Indians will challenge the Eminence Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Holy Cross is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Holy Cross is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped two weeks ago as they easily beat Holmes 48-0. While the Indians didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-8), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Holy Cross found their leader in sophomore Brian Ferguson, who rushed for 76 yards and one TD on only five carries, and also threw for 71 yards and one touchdown. Charles Oglesby was another key player, rushing for 80 yards and one score on only ten carries.

Holy Cross didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cahlil Johnson and Jason Rieselman. Holy Cross received some extra help from Dustin Wilson, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Holy Cross, racking up 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Thomas Maddox, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Eminence beat Trimble County 27-16 on Friday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Holy Cross' win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Eminence, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
