Softball Recap: Greenville Red Raiders vs. Easley Green Wave
Greenville had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 8-9-1 to make it four. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Easley Green Wave. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Green Wave this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-6 back in March.
As for Easley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games.
For Easley's part, Jalyn McGee spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Camora Little, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Greenville is set to take on their familiar foe Greenwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Easley will challenge rival J.L. Mann at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
