Baseball Game Preview: Gaffney Indians vs. Spartanburg Vikings

For the second straight game, Gaffney will face off against Spartanburg. The Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Gaffney will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

On Wednesday, Gaffney came up short against Spartanburg and fell 11-8.

Sylas Gilfillan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Gage McDaniel, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI and one double.

Spartanburg pushed their record up to 7-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Gaffney, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
