Basketball Game Preview: Rice Consolidated Raiders vs. Cole Cougars

The Rice Consolidated Raiders will square off against the Cole Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Rice Consolidated sitting on four straight victories and Cole on 11.

Rice Consolidated is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They walked away with a 52-40 win over Stockdale. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 629th, while the Brahmas are ranked 1329th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cole). They breezed past Natalia to the tune of 98-19 on Tuesday. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Cole pushed their record up to 26-7 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points over those games. As for Rice Consolidated, their win bumped their record up to 23-7.
