Baseball Recap: Pacifica Comes Up Short

Pacifica fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Villa Park on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 6-2 to the Spartans. That's two games in a row now that the Mariners have lost by exactly four runs.

Pacifica has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season. As for Villa Park, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pacifica will welcome Torrance at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Villa Park, they will be playing at home against Bishop Amat at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Lancers' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
