Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only River Valley walked away with it. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 66-65 victory over the Unioto Shermans. The win was familiar territory for the Vikings, who have now won 17 games in a row.

River Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carter Myers led the charge by shooting 4-for-7 from downtown and dropping a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Those 21 points gave Myers a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sawyer Weston, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 19 points and five boards.

River Valley pushed their record up to 24-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Unioto, with the defeat, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 23-4.

Coming up, River Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Maysville at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Maysville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 contests -- so hopefully River Valley likes a good challenge. Unioto does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
