Volleyball Recap: Om Patel Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Loyola Academy

Metea Valley won the last time they faced Loyola Academy and things went their way on Saturday too. The Mustangs walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Ramblers.

Metea Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Om Patel led the charge by getting 21 assists and five digs. That's the most digs Patel has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Aariz Hashwani, who had 16 digs and two assists.

The win got Metea Valley back to even at 7-7. As for Loyola Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Metea Valley is on the road again on Saturday to play Benet Academy at 10:30 a.m. As for Loyola Academy, they will take on Belleville East at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
