Lexington gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Perkins Pirates with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Minutemen in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won four in a row.
Lexington walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-23, 25-22.
Ava Brown paced Lexington's offense, picking up 17 kills. Brown got some help from Bella Temple and her 27 assists. Brown was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lexington will host West Holmes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Minutemen their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Perkins, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Oak Harbor at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
