Basketball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Plant City's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Plant City won the last time they faced Armwood, and Logan Teeden did his part to make sure it happened again. The Plant City Raiders blew past the Armwood Hawks, posting an 85-51 victory thanks in part to Teeden, who went 6 for 9 en route to 18 points in addition to five boards and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 16 games he's played.

Akeim Young was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Armwood lost on Thursday, don't look at Jayden Dryden. Despite the final result, he posted 11 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Morgan, who scored nine points.

Plant City has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points per game. As for Armwood, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-9.

Plant City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Armwood, they will take on Gaither on Wednesday. One thing working in Gaither's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
