Basketball Recap: Bearden Takes a Loss

Bearden extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-3. They were beaten by the Lafayette County Cougars 56-21. The Bears were not able to make up for their loss to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in February.

As for Lafayette County, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lafayette County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keyaijah Harris, who posted 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Harris has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aleyah Antwine, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 11 points and three steals.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Bearden is set to take on their familiar foe Hermitage at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lafayette County will challenge rival Columbia Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
