Basketball Game Preview: Crestview Cougars vs. Madison Comprehensive Rams

The Crestview Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Madison Comprehensive Rams at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Crestview will be strutting in after a win while Madison Comprehensive will be coming in after a loss.

On Saturday, Crestview beat Mansfield Christian 48-38. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Flames: they've now won eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Madison Comprehensive was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-53 heartbreaker at the hands of Shelby. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 511th, while the Whippets are ranked 221st).

The win got Crestview back to even at 10-10. As for Madison Comprehensive, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.

Crestview didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Madison Comprehensive in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 61-56 victory. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
