Basketball Recap: Midland Classical Academy's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to 13

Midland Classical Academy came tearing into Tuesday's contest with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 69-62 win over the Lubbock Christian Eagles. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 66-45 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2023.

Midland Classical Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mariah Davis out in front who posted 16 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Davis has been hot, having also posted four or more steals the last seven times she's played. Addie Dunn was another key player, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds.

Midland Classical Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.

Midland Classical Academy pushed their record up to 23-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Lubbock Christian, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Midland Classical Academy has already played their next game (against Trinity Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lubbock Christian will square off against Lake Country Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Lubbock Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
