Baseball Recap: Vinton-Shellsburg Takes a Loss

Vinton-Shellsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They came up short against the Independence Mustangs, falling 14-7. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 15-12 to the Mustangs when the teams met back in June of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Vinton-Shellsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Independence, the victory got them back to even at 13-13.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Mustangs beat Vinton-Shellsburg by a score of 11-1 later that day.
