Basketball Game Preview: Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles vs. Tri-West Hendricks Bruins

Guerin Catholic is 0-5 against Tri-West Hendricks since December of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles will square off against the Tri-West Hendricks Bruins at 6:00 p.m.

Guerin Catholic came up short against Lafayette Central Catholic on Friday, falling 58-33. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Knights are ranked 42nd).

Guerin Catholic's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Caroline Ford, who posted eight points and nine boards, and Lillian Behrle, who had ten points. That's the most points Behrle has posted since back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Tri-West Hendricks walked away with it. They claimed a resounding 73-14 win over the Hot Dogs. Winning may never get old, but the Bruins sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Tri-West Hendricks is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Guerin Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.

Guerin Catholic ended up a good deal behind Tri-West Hendricks when the teams last played back in December of 2021, losing 54-36. Thankfully for Guerin Catholic, Adrie Thompson (who went 5 for 10 on her way to 13 points along with eight rebounds and five assists) won't be suiting up this time.
